CellBall Biomedical Co., Ltd., founded in 2025, focuses on 3D cell culture technology and gene editing application.

By integrating clinical research resources of Taiwan’s leading medical centers with artificial intelligence–driven data analysis, we are dedicated to establishing highly realistic normal and tumor organoid models as drug screening platforms, technical services and products with accuracy and efficiency.

Technological Advantages

3D Cell Culture

3D cell culture technology has emerged as a powerful alternative to traditional 2D culture methods, offering a more realistic simulation of physiological environment. It has been widely applied in drug discovery, cancer research, and tissue engineering.

CellBall Biomedical leverages a hydrogel-based system, FormuGelTM, that mimics the extracellular matrix (ECM) to create a supportive microenvironment for cell adhesion, migration, proliferation, and differentiation. FormuGelTM combines multi-functionality, cost-effectiveness, batch-to-batch consistency, and high-throughput potential, making it an ideal solution for advanced biomedical applications.

We are also focusing on 3D co-culture systems of tumor cells and fibroblasts (cancer-associated fibroblasts, CAFs) to build a more physiological-relevant tumor microenvironment (TME) system for cancer research as well as drug screening.

CellBall Biomedical possesses extensive hands-on experience and expertise in a variety of precision gene-editing technologies. Our capabilities span multiple model organisms, including mice, mammalian cells, and yeast, enabling versatile applications in genetic manipulation and functional studies.

 

Also, we can provide users with 3D cell culture/co-culture systems and services using cells with customized genetic modification (SNP, reporter genes, etc.).
